Super Famicom / Nintendo

The Super Nintendo (Super Famicom domestically) is a fourth generation home video game console developed and marketed by Nintendo. It was released in November 1990 in Japan, August 1991 in North America, and April-July 1992 in PAL territories. It competed primarily with Segaโ€™s Mega Drive (Genesis) and NEC’s PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16). The SNES is Nintendo’s second programmable home console, following the Nintendo Entertainment System (Famicom). It was the highest selling system of the 16-bit era.
