Technically the face plate on the top of the GameCube was easily removable. Unfortunately this was ahead of the trend of customising consoles or else they would have capitalised on it. Although some alternate plates were released in Japan I simply bought a few as spare parts from Nintendo Australia for next to nothing. Was the part that showed the most wear so a quick fix to give a console a fresh look.
